Excel London
Background
The Excel international exhibition and conference center in London’s Docklands is now a major business landmark in the city. When the site was set up EMT and its sister company ECCL were asked to determine the energy strategy and from day one we have been helping optimise energy consumption for the company.
Installation?
EMT installed a DATABIRD and DYNAMAT configuration, in this instance using a hard-wired infrastrure for inclusion in the new building.
Energy Savings Identified
Because EMT were involved from inception, the job has been different. The DATABIRD system performs a number of roles: firstly, providing 30 minute continuous audits of the use and cost of electricity, gas and water in the 120 lettable zones and 50 functional areas; secondly, audit the consumption and quality of the energy suppliers; thirdly, provide ‘shadow’ energy bills to the company.
Results
EMT has an ongoing relationship with Excel in the management of energy. Without such a strategy Excel undoubtedly would have significantly higher energy and water costs.
